It’s late. Around twelve or so. Maybe not that late, she’s a detective for crying out loud. But lately everything they’ve both been more cautious over little things. Beckett of course always thought Castle was overreacting, but that never meant she didn’t find it cute that he was so protective with her.
She took off her jacket and flung it to the chair next to the bed. She wasn’t sure if her writer was awake or not, but she still tried to be very quiet so she didn’t disturb him. She changed into her pajamas. They were pretty tight now, all of her clothes were. She’d need to go shopping soon. She lifted up the covers and got into the bed. Greeted her husband with a soft kiss on his lips. She heard him hum as if trying to say that he knew she was here, and it was late. She didn’t respond with anything, instead she searched under the covers to find his hand. Held on to it for a while until she brought it up to the side of her stomach. She then let go of it so he could feel for himself. He was awake now. “Is he-“ “Shh.” It wasn’t so often that the fetus living inside of her decided to kick. So, they took these moments when they came. A minute passed until junior decided to show his skills. She smiled. He felt their baby kick for the first time. It seemed as if Castle was ready to start squealing over what just happened but before he could get a word out Beckett placed a finger over his lips. “Shh, it’s late. Talk later.” He left his hand to rest on her growing stomach as they both fell asleep.
